The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center in Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch for most of our listening area.
The Tornado Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. tonight and includes the north Iowa counties of:
BREMER
BUTLER
CERRO GORDO
CHICKASAW
FAYETTE
FLOYD
FRANKLIN
HANCOCK
HUMBOLDT
IOWA
KOSSUTH
WINNEBAGO
WORTH
While not included in the Tornado Watch area, the NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook also puts Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek counties on alert for potentially severe weather.
The NWS says another round of severe storms will be possible this evening, south of Interstate 90. Damaging winds, large hail, torrential rainfall, and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Localized flash flooding could occur if heavy rain repeats over the same areas
