Teenager murdered in St. Louis’ Greater Ville neighborhood identified – KSDK.com

The boy’s death marked the city’s 30th homicide of 2021, according to 5 On Your Side data

ST. LOUIS — A teenager was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in the city’s Greater Ville neighborhood, police said.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department identified the victim as Teshawn Ford, 15, of the 4500 Block of St. Ferdinand Avenue.

The shooting happened around 2:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of North Taylor Avenue, just across the street from Ford’s home.

Police found Ford lying in an alley behind Desta’s Market with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

A second victim, a 70-year-old man, was shot in the leg. He told police he was in the area when he heard gunshots and was struck. He was driven to a hospital by a friend and is expected to survive.

While police were investigating the shootings, an 18-year-old man, later identified as the suspect, arrived up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The boy’s death marked the city’s 30th homicide of 2021, according to 5 On Your Side data. At the same time last year, just 17 people were murdered in St. Louis.

Police asked anyone with information to call the department’s Homicide Division at 314-444-5371 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
