HAVE MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTDOOR SPORTS NEXT WEEK. KATIE: ALL OF THE CHILDREN SPORTS IN THE WEEK AHEAD, EVERYTHING IS IN JEOPARDY OUTSIDE AS WE HAVE SO MUCH RAIN HEADING OUR WAY. I WILL TELL YOU, THERE WILL BE BREAKS IN THE RAIN, SO IF YOU DO NOT MIND PLAYING ON A MUDDY FIELD, YOU MIGHT GET SOME IN. LOOK AT THE FIRST LIGHT OF DAY ON OUR EASTERN SKY THIS MORNING, JUST A SLIVER OF THAT LIGHT AS WE STILL HAVE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. THAT IS OUR COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA VIEW. 54 DEGREES WITH A SOUTH SOUTHEAST WIND AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. WHILE WE DO HAVE CLOUDS OVERHEAD , AND WHAT CAN BECOME A FEW SPRINKLES IN OUR NORTHERN ZONE, WE HAVE SUCH DRY AIR RIGHT NOW AT THE RAIN IS HAVING A HARD TIME MAKING IT TO THE GROUND. AS THE SUN IS ON COMPLEX GOES FROM SALINA TO HUTCHISON AND WICHITA AND EAST OF EMPORIA, WEST OF EMPORIA I MEAN, IT IS HAVING A HARD TIME MAKING IT INTO ANY OF OUR VIEWING AREAS, IT HITS THE DRY AIR AND FIZZLES. FUTURESCAN WANT TO SHOW A COUPLE OF SHOWERS MAKING IT IN, BUT I DID NOT THINK THIS IS LIKELY. I WOULD GIVE THIS ONLY A 20% CHANCE OF THIS RAIN COMING THROUGH THIS MORNING, LATER TONIGHT, I THINK THERE IS A BETTER CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS DEVELOPING TO OUR NORTH. WE WILL HAVE SPENT THE DAY SATURATING THE ATMOSPHERE, GIVING THE RAIN A CHANCE TO MAKE IT TO THE GROUND. YOU CAN SEE BY 11:45 TONIGHT, YOU MIGHT PICK UP .25 INCHES 2.1 INCHES IN OUR NORTHERN ZONES, BUT IN KANSAS CITY AND SOUTH, NOT MUCH IN — IMPACTING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. TOMORROW, MORE RAIN COMING IN BY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. THIS IS AFTER MIDNIGHT, WE HAVE ABOUT HALF OF AN INCH OF RAIN IN KANSAS CITY AND IN INTEREST IN WARRENSBURG. THIS KEEPS ADDING UP, THERE WILL BE A SWATH THAT MAY PICK UP TWO INCHES OF RAIN. THIS IS THROUGH MONDAY EVENING AND WE HAVE ADDITIONAL RAIN CHANCES ON THE YOU CAN SEE THROUGH THE NINE-DAY FORECAST. FLASH FLOODING IS SOMETHING THAT WE WILL BE KEEPING A VERY CLOSE EYE
