Positive COVID Tests on the Rise in North Iowa – KCHA News

COVID positive tests were in double digits for several north Iowa counties over the 7-day period reported on Wednesday, August 11th by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).

According to the IDPH Coronavirus dashboard, Floyd County had 13 positive tests. A Facebook post by Floyd County Public Health indicated two of the positives for people under the age of 17.

Chickasaw County recorded 14 positive tests, Bremer County had 18, Fayette County 25, Butler County 28 and Cerro Gordo reported 51 positive tests for COVID.  Elsewhere, Howard County had just four, Winneshiek County six, and Worth and Mitchell counties had 9 each.

The IDPH reported the statewide positivity rate for the 7-day period ending August 11th was at 7.6%.
