Organizers say 2021 Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day canceled due to city event size limits – KMBC Kansas City

A favorite Kansas City pastime has been canceled for the second year running due to concerns over COVID-19. Organizers say the decision has been made to cancel the 2021 KC St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The event’s 2020 parade was canceled — for the first time in 48 years — after the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Organizers said on the parade’s website Tuesday that the decision was made to cancel the 2021 parade because of limitations under the city’s current public health order. “It is with great sadness that we have made the decision that we are unable to host the KC St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2021,” organizers said. “With the current extension of Kansas City, Missouri’s state of emergency, we are unable to host the parade for the public as we have in previous years.”The event has again been rescheduled for March 17, 2022. Kansas City’s current State of Emergency and Public Health Order are set to run until May 1.”We look forward to the ability to safely host a St. Patrick’s Day celebration with the city in 2022!” organizers said.Click here to learn more.
