OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 5 Nebraska volleyball swept No. 12 Baylor in three sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-19) in the regional semifinal matchup. The Huskers were without All-American Lauren Stivrins who sat Sunday’s match due to an undisclosed injury.

A tough start to the first set as Nebraska trailed 10-5 early, but four ace serves and a .286 hitting percentage allowed the Huskers to win set one 25-21.

Nebraska easily handled the second set with Kayla Caffey and Callie Schwarzenbach stepping up to fill the middle position. A closer third set but the Huskers ended on a 16-6 run to sweep the Bears in three sets.

Lexi Sun finished with 12 kills and a career-high five aces. Madi Kubik recorded eight kills while Caffey and Jazz Sweet each had seven. This is Nebraska’s ninth consecutive trip to the regional finals. They will play either Penn State or Texas on Monday.
