LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The annual Nebraska Football Road Race has been scheduled on a date to honor Team Jack Co-Founder Andy Hoffman.
Hoffman was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July, 2020 and succumbed to the disease in March, 2o21. He had been a pivotal advocate against brain cancer years before his diagnosis, as his own son, Jack battled the disease from 2011-2014. He is still in remission.
To honor and remember Andy, the race will be held in person on Sunday, June 20- Father’s Day.
“Speaking on behalf of Leadership Committee members, including Ryan Schommer, Austin Allen and Thomas Fidone, thank you for your support of this event and we hope you make plans now to participate in the 2021 event supporting a great cause and helping us honor our friend Andy Hoffman,” said Husker Quarterback Adrian Martinez.

The run will include a 5K and one-mile fun run with starting and finish lines in front of Memorial Stadium. The fun run will be first, starting at 8 am, followed by the 5K.
All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Team Jack POWER5 Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center.
