Mobile Crisis Response Team Ready in Chickasaw, Other Iowa Counties – KCHA News

Chickasaw County now has a new mobile crisis response team available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Public Health Administrator Lisa Welter says it’s hard to define a mental health crisis, because it can be different from person to person. Suicidal thoughts, alcohol abuse, substance abuse, depression, self harm, domestic violence certainly fall into that category, but no matter your issue, Welter says the response team is ready for whatever need arises when and where you need them.

The service is now available in all counties in Iowa and can be accessed by both children and adults. Welter says if you, someone you know, or someone you see is in some need of some help, don’t hesitate to call.

Welter adds that the state is working to establish a phone number similar to 911 that would be specifically for mental health emergencies.
