(CNN) — Country music star and “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan will miss the first live installment of the show after testing positive for COVID-19.
Bryan made the announcement on Twitter Monday morning saying he is “doing well.”
The network said former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul will fill in as a guest judge alongside Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.
I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @AmericanIdol show. I tested positive for COVID but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.
