LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — UPDATE: LSO investigators were called to Pawnee Lake around 11:15 am Thursday. Officials would not say what brought them out there.
LSO Sheriff Terry Wagner explained that the body was not visible to the human eye, but would not elaborate on this statement.
Wagner says they are working to remove the remains from the area as an autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow at 1 pm.
15 investigators are currently at the lake, souring the area for anything that “doesn’t belong.”
The area is being treated as a crime scene. All public access points to the west side of the lake are to be closed for the duration of the investigation.
LSO says they are taking all possibilities into account. The investigation is ongoing.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LSO) has launched a death investigation after discovering human remains on the Southwest side of Pawnee Lake.
The identity of the remains is unknown at this time. The area is being treated as a crime scene.
