LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Public Schools on Thursday released its full return to school plan — with no major changes.
Masks will be optional for students under the plan, which is the same as in the initial draft released July 1.
In a news release, LPS Superintendent Steve Joel said the district is “highly concerned” with the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.
If cases continue to rise, Joel says the plan could see changes.
“If the risk of spread and test positivity rate in our community continues to increase prior to school starting, we will collaborate with the LLCHD to adjust our protocols and requirements to mitigate the risk of transmission in our schools,” he said in the release.
