LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 16-year-old boy is being heralded for saving a child’s life Sunday evening.
According to Lincoln police, a 7-year-old autistic boy wandered off from his parents just northeast of the Loren Eiseley Branch Library. The teenager, who lives close to the library, saw the boy drowning in a nearby pond when he took reportedly took action.
The teenager dove into the pond to rescue the child. LPD said another adult saw it happening and grabbed a towel to take care of the child after his was dragged to shore.
Officers say the child is okay, according to police.
