Whether you are looking to make some extra money over summer break or seeking an additional part-time job, now is your opportunity to serve your community. The City of Overland Park is currently hiring for a variety of seasonal positions.

Work at City facilities across Overland Park, including Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, the Overland Park Farmers’ Market, golf courses and outdoor pools. Positions vary in duration from the spring through fall. Ages 14 and up are eligible to apply.

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead is hiring seasonal staff to serve during its season, which lasts from April through October. Positions vary from labor-intensive jobs to customer service-focused jobs. Laborers and gardeners keep the Farmstead looking beautiful, while point-of-sale attendants and guest service coordinators ensure a quality experience for visitors.

Overland Park Farmers’ Market

The Overland Park Farmers’ Market begins its season during the spring, and is seeking Farmers’ Market attendants to assist with operations on market dates. The Farmers’ Market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout spring, summer and fall.

Aquatics

The City is hiring lifeguards to staff outdoor pools. To remain open throughout the pool season, each City pool needs to be fully staffed. If you are interested or know a great candidate who is, help make a splash this summer by applying. Training is free and required prior to pool season. In addition to lifeguard openings, other aquatics openings include Pool Cashier and Pool Manager.

Golf and soccer

If you are a sports fan who loves the outdoors, serve at one of Overland Park’s athletic facilities. Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex is hiring operations attendants and concessions attendants to support day-to-day operations, including concessions, supplies and maintenance. Sykes/Lady Overland Park Golf Course and St. Andrew’s Golf Club are hiring laborers and laborer helpers for regular upkeep, including mowing and trimming.

Other openings

There are plenty of other seasonal openings with the City. In addition to the golf courses and Farmstead, Parks & Forestry is also hiring a laborer, who will help with mowing and maintenance of green spaces. The recycling center is also seeking a laborer helper for maintenance and planting at the facility.

Job opportunities extend beyond the summer as well. The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and community centers hire year round and are always seeking staff to help manage the front desks, maintain the facilities and support day-to-day operations.

If any of these positions pique your interest, learn more and apply for a seasonal job at recruit.opkansas.org.
