Kansas City police say 4-month-old boy’s death being investigated as homicide – KMBC Kansas City

The Kansas City Police Department said it is investigating an infant’s death as a homicide case.Police said they were called around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday to the 5400 block of Harrison Street regarding an infant that was not breathing.Upon arrival, police said first responders on scene told them there were no obvious signs of injures or trauma to the child. The child, identified by police as a four-month-old boy, was transported to a hospital.On Wednesday, police said they were notified by the hospital that the boy had died.“Due to the information relayed regarding internal injuries, an investigation was initiated,” according to a state statement from KCPD. “The Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death a homicide.”Police said the investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking if you have any information to call the Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043. You can also remain anonymous by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
