Kansas City Chiefs: Seven most disappointing players in 2020 season – KC Kingdom

The Kansas City Chiefs expected more from these players in the 2020 season and were let down.

The goal for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2020 season was to get back to the Super Bowl and become the first repeat winners since the 2003/2004 Patriots. While they managed to make it back to the Super Bowl, they got the doors blown off of them and now we’re in for a long offseason.

Heading into the season (or at some point during the season), fans had high hopes for these players and were let down with their lackluster performance or not being able to play. Let’s check out the seven most disappointing players from the 2020 season.

Most disappointing Kansas City Chiefs – No. 7: Charvarius Ward

After a really good 2019 season, Charvarius Ward struggled mightily in 2020 and now doesn’t look like a long-term answer at cornerback. Fortunately, the Chiefs saw rookie L’Jarius Sneed step in and play incredibly well, but seeing Ward regress was definitely a bummer.

Ward’s biggest moment in Super Bowl LV wasn’t a good one, as an interception that the Chiefs defense hauled in was negated because of Ward being called for holding. A potential turning point in the game was overturned and it’s hard not to be frustrated at Ward for that.

Ward is a restricted free agent this offseason and while the Chiefs probably keep him for 2021, they might decide they saw enough from him this past season and opt to move on.
