Jefferson City pharmacy to begin receiving COVID-19 vaccine – Jefferson City News Tribune

February 10, 2021 by LPP Reporter

The federal government has selected 102 Missouri pharmacies to help provide vaccinations for the general public, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services announced Tuesday.

Through the launch of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, the federal government is shipping vaccine allocations directly to 81 Walmart (including 724 Stadium Blvd. in Jefferson City) and Sam’s Club pharmacies and 21 Health Mart pharmacies.

The Walmart store in Eldon will also participate in the program.

Locations of the vaccine recipients may be found in a PDF document available at corporate.walmart.com/media-library/document/covid-19- vaccine-locations-walmart-and-sams-clubs-missouri-2-9-21/_proxyDocument?id=00000177-87dc-de9e-adff-affe64970000.

The vaccines will not come out of Missouri’s weekly allotment.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said in a news release the state welcomes the chance to work with federal partners to get vaccinations into Missourians’ arms.

The program is to begin Friday. The 102 pharmacies are scheduled to receive approximately 18,000 doses weekly.

The U.S. government is implementing its program incrementally and will expand to some 40,000 pharmacies across the country.
