Husker Baseball Finding Grit During Win Streak

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (KLKN) — Griffin Everitt’s RBI single in the top of the 13th inning gave Nebraska baseball a 7-6 win at Rutgers in a wild finish to a three-team pod series. The Huskers went 3-1 in the pod, only losing to Indiana once, and improved to 23-11 on the season, good enough for solo second place in the Big Ten standings.

Nebraska scored six runs in the top of the 1st inning to take a 6-0 lead. Luke Roskam hit a two-run home run in the frame while Spencer Schwellenbach and Bryce Matthews added RBIs as well.

Rutgers tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning after a Ryan Lasko, three-run home run.

Neither team scored again until the 13th inning when Everitt came through with an RBI single to score Matthews.

Up next for the Huskers, they host Northwestern in a three-game series beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
