JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The rising number of COVID cases in Missouri has coincided with the reduced availability of inpatient beds and ICU spaces in hospitals across the state.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the state has recorded 571,270 cumulative cases of SARS-CoV-2—an increase of 1,474 positive cases (PCR testing only)—and 9,667 total deaths as of Sunday, Aug. 1, no increase over yesterday. That’s a case fatality rate of 1.69%.
