Firework sales booming in Lancaster County during opening weekend

Roca Crazy Cracker has been restocking its shelves since they opened up on Friday.

Firework

ROCA, Neb. (KLKN) – Firework sales are booming in the county amid opening weekend.

“I didn’t expect it to be this busy, so this is really great,” Scott Chenoweth, the owner of Roca Crazy Cracker Fireworks said. “We got people in here and it’s been busy both Friday and Saturday.”

Roca Crazy Cracker has been restocking its shelves since they opened up on Friday.

Chenoweth says they have seen people from all across Nebraska, including some from outside of the state to buy fireworks. He is prepared for sales to only get bigger as the week continues on.

“We’re down here 24/7 so just knock on the camper. If we’re sleeping, wake us up and we will sell you some fireworks because that’s what it’s about,” Chenoweth said. “We’re here for fun and to entertain you.”

Stands in the county have until midnight on July 4th to sell fireworks. Lincoln stands will open up the morning of the 3rd to sell items.
