DAY 8: The search for missing 11-year-old continues

May 24, 2021 3:54 pm

LA VISTA, Neb. (KLKN) — UPDATE: La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten says they will be going back to Walnut Creek now that the water line has been lowered.

They continue to encourage the public to send in any information or possible sightings of Larsen to the local police.

Lausten says there is no evidence of an abduction or any malevolent activity at this time.

Today begins the second week of the search for Ryan Larsen.

BACKGROUND: DAY 5: EMA expires but authorities still search for Ryan

Larsen is an 11-year-old La Vista boy who is believed to have wandered away from school on Monday, May 17. He was last seen leaving La Vista West Elementary around noon that day.

Larsen is on the autism spectrum but is considered to be high functioning. He also takes medications for seizures.

According to authorities, the police are familiar with Larsen and he is known for hiding.

Originally the search was considered an “ultimate game of hide-and-seek,” but Friday the La Vista Police Chief shared that he’s “worried now.”

The Endangered Missing Advisory for Larsen expired on Friday. Regardless hundreds of officers and volunteers continue to search.

Again, Ryan Larsen is an 11-year-old child with autism. He is a white male, 5′ 8″, about 125 lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, an Old Navy shirt, and had a polka-dotted umbrella.
