7 Things To Do This Weekend In KC: May 19-22 2022

7-things-to-do-this-weekend-in-kc:-may-19-22-2022

Jacob Collier

Jacob Collier is coming to The Truman this Thursday night. This event has been rescheduled from May 2020, and resellers seemed to have marked up ticket prices quite a bit. But trust us when we say it’s worth it because Jacob Collier has the voice of an indie angel.

Thursday, May 19. 8 pm. The Truman.

Annual Tattoo Arts Festival

The seventh annual Tattoo Arts Festival is going down this weekend at Crown Center. So if you’re wanting to learn more about the art of tattooing or get tattooed by a worldwide collection of talented artists, this event is for you.

Friday, May 20-Sunday, May 22. Times vary. Sheraton at Crown Center.

Ladies Night at the Wellness Club

Need to unwind and detox after a long week? This Friday you can head to Kansas City Wellness Club for mini sessions of their massage, facial, energy healing and meditation services. Refreshments will be provided, and you can even relax in the steam room and sauna before the event starts. Honestly, we can’t think of a better way to end the workweek.

Friday, May 20. 5-10 pm. Kansas City Wellness Club. Register here.

Hot Dogs and Highballs

Condor’s Cove is collabing with another local pop-up this weekend, Fancies & Sodas. They’ll be taking over Record Bar with live music from SunDog, a surf rock band. This collaborative cocktail event will feature fizzy versions of classic tropical cocktails and, fittingly, hot dogs to snack on.

Sunday, May 22. 6 pm. Record Bar.

Bryan Copeland Live at Border Brewing

Bryan Copeland has been writing and making music in Springfied since 2008. His original music has a vast range of influences, but most people describe him as a mix of John Mayer and Ed Sheeran. He also uses loop pedals and harmony pedals to make himself sound like a full band. Catch him this weekend at Border, which has a cool new outdoor beer garden.

Sunday, May 22. 2-4 pm. Border Brewing Company.

Paloma Day Cocktail Competition

Ninth & State in the West Bottoms is throwing a Paloma Day Competiton this Sunday with local bartenders creating and serving their own Paloma recipes. The lineup of famous KC bartenders will include Annaleigh Wessling from SoT, Christyna Sanchez from King G’s, Halle Robiana from Goat & Rabbit, Edwyn Diaz from Parlor and Ninth & State’s won Josh Melgoza.

Sunday, May 22. 7-10 pm. Ninth & State.

Sweeping the Chimney through the Mantle of the Earth

It’s your last weekend to catch Charlotte Street Foundation’s stellar exhibition, Sweeping the Chimney through the Mantle of the Earth, featuring nine contemporary artists. The exhibit is curated by Charlotte Street Studio resident Andrew Ordonez and presents new interpretations and recordings of nature while considering the physiological extension between the body and Earth through the lens of social and environmental unrest.

Through Saturday, May 21. Various times. Charlotte Street Foundation’s new gallery at 3333 Wyoming St.
