Mood Indigo at Stray Cat Film Center
Stray Cat Film Center is showing Mood Indigo—a 2013 French surrealist sci-fi—this Friday evening. The love story stars Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris and is inspired by French novelist Boris Vian’s cult novel set in Paris. The event sounds like it has the potential to be the ultimate date night.

Sip & Shop at the Kansas City Museum
Wisteria Boutique, Kansas City Museum’s gift shop, is celebrating Black History Month with local Black artists and makers, including custom jewelry from Clarissa Knighten of Rissa’s Artistic Design, paintings and textile art from Denita Robinson, and a children’s book written by Miss Missouri USA, Joye Forrest. You can shop in the boutique this Thursday while enjoying a snack and beverage provided by Boulevard Brewing Company.

The Beach Boys
It’s billed as the Beach Boys, but it’s Mike Love and Bruce Johnston with nary a Wilson or Jardine to be found. While Mike didn’t write the band’s most memorable songs, he remains the best-preserved performer in the group thanks to his longtime commitment to vegetarianism and meditation.

Parranderos Latin Combo at The Ship
Parranderos Latin Combo is coming to The Ship in West Bottoms this Friday for a night of high-energy Salsa, Cumbia and Tropical music. Parranderos Latin Combo’s self-titled debut album includes nine original songs written in Iowa and recorded in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Grammy award-winning engineers Ramon Martinez and Carlos Velazquez.

Not Quite Fatal
A group show of seven artists whose practices include printmaking, sculpture, and drawing, Not Quite Fatal was curated by Chelsea Smith. The works address “place/displacement within the environment and the urgency of community care.” The show opened at the Charlotte Street Foundation’s new gallery in mid-January.

Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson
A world premiere, this production from Kansas City Repertory Theatre is a modern take on the characters developed by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The play was written by Kate Hamill and will be directed by José Zayas.
