4 firefighters injured after Kansas City pumper truck involved in crash while responding to call in Northland – KMBC Kansas City

Multiple injuries – including four firefighters – have been reported after a Kansas City Fire Department pumper truck was involved in a multi-vehicle crash while responding to a call in the Northland.The Kansas City Police Department said the crash happened at 12:21 p.m. near the intersection of Northeast 96th Street and North Oak Trafficway. Police said for firefighters were transported to a local hospital, with one of the injuries listed as serious but not life-threatening. Police said a woman was also extricated from a vehicle, and she is listed as serious but in stable condition.KCPD said their investigation determined that a Pierce pumper (KCFD #3) was southbound utilizing visual and audible emergency equipment. As the vehicle entered the intersection under a red signal, it collided with an eastbound Nissan sedan.
